How do I set up the Gliding Rack Mount?Updated a day ago
Step 1: Disassemble the Mount
- The Gliding Mount comes lightly pre-assembled. To begin setup, you’ll need to remove the set of loosely assembled rollers.
- Using the provided 1/2in wrench & 3/16in hex wrench, unscrew the black flanged nuts from the Precision Shoulder Bolts that run through the rollers.
- Once unscrewed, remove the nuts, bolts & rollers. Your mount will now be shaped like a ‘C’
Step 2: Position the Mount
- Place the mount against your rack (or any 3in x 3in rounded square tubing) in a comfortable location so the remaining rollers are pressed against the rack.
- The flat side of the plastic cover by the handle should be facing the ceiling.
- Hold it steady against your racking while preparing the rollers and rods. This is best done when the mount is supported from below.
Step 3: Reinstall the Bolts and Rollers Where They Were
- There are 3 sets of holes that allow the mount to find the best fit for your rack. The set closest to the top/bottom of the mount are the best ones to start with.
- Hold your first roller against the rack on the side opposite the handle and line up the roller’s hole with the open holes on the side of the unit. If you can see through the hole in the side of the mount, that will help in determining the appropriate alignment for the roller.
- With the first roller held in place, initially insert a shoulder bolt (long rod) through the side with the ANCOREX Mounting Plate. The Precision Shoulder bolt should go through, the side hole → through the roller → and out the far side of the mount until the head of the Shoulder Bolt is seated flush against the aluminum wall.
- Direction matters a lot. It will not work if the shoulder bolts are installed backwards.
- Install the 2nd roller similarly to how the first one was installed, making sure that the 2nd roller is in the corresponding hole set to the 1st one. If the first roller is in the Top most hole, than the 2nd roller goes into the Bottom most hole.
- Using the 1/2in Spanner Wrench and 3/16in hex wrench, tighten the nuts onto the shoulder bolts
Step 4: Unlock and Secure the Handle
- Almost there. Undo the two bright red-capped screws located near the handle of the unit. This will unlock the handle, and it will rush towards the rack, allowing the mount to clamp securely to your rack/upright.
- These screws will feel tight. While holding the mount in place on the rack, lift the handle while unscrewing the red caps.
- Once removed, screw the red caps into the storage holes on the back side of the mount so they don’t go missing. All eight (8) threaded holes are safe to store them in.
Step 5: Mount the ANCOREX
- Align the bottom of the ANCOREX align with the top of the mount plate interface.
- Slide the ANCOREX onto the plate mount interface of the Gliding Mount from top to bottom.
- Once you hear a "Click", it’s locked in and ready to use.
